Personally, I like Yahoo's email the best. I've even upgraded to the paid version, to have greater storage and elimination of the footer.
Which do others like? |

According to the users on EmailDiscussions, the email discussion forum I run, some popular free email services include:-
MyWay.com Fastmail.fm MyRealBox.com FuseMail.com Practically nobody has a kind word to say about Microsoft Hotmail, though some users have said that Yahoo! Mail is much more reliable. With the "Big 2" it seems to depend on how "guessable" a user's chosen email address is whether they have buckets-of-spam burying their account, or a pleasant and relatively spam-free experience. |

Welcome aboard, Edwin! Glad to have an expert on email services in our midst.
I find that Yahoo has much better spam filtering that Hotmail. I get a lot of spam per day, and Hotmail does a horrible job, basically making that account unusable. It's come to the point where I keep the Hotmail only in order to access to MSN Messenger. With Yahoo, though, I have mailing lists getting hundreds of daily emails, and its accuracy rate in classifying junk vs. non-junk is at least 95%, if not higher. |

My experience is much better with Yahoo, also nice to have since I am member of severals usergroup on Yahoo.
Hotmail I gave up yrs ago. The day after I registered on Hotmail, I got a lot of junkmail next morning. |

You know, you can get a free passport, to use with MSN Messenger, with any email address, so you can use, info@hostingtalk.com if you wanted, and then just scrap your hotmail account
To get a microsoft .net passport, visit: www.passport.net |

Yes, you can use any e-mail address for MSN messenger using a passport account -- but I find that attempting to sign up for a passport results in error messages if you use passport.net but succeeds if you start at passport.com (even though the sites are identical and passport.com sends you to passport.net to do the actual signing up)

My personal favorite email service is incamail.com, however they had a few server issues so it might be better to use someone else. I will not accept emails from people @yahoo.com or @hotmail.com or @msn.com unless the subject line is convincing (like if it says - Support Request for www.*mycustome*.com I would accept it but if it said - your attention needed I woulden't due to the many email viruses circulating these days).

Regarding Hotmail v Yahoo. Hotmails spam filter is completely useless compared to Yahoo's but Microsoft has the monopoly over email as it offers the .net passport which is very useful. So I say the two are pretty much evenly matched.

Quite alot of servers tend to put Hotmail on its blacklist and dis-allow sending to it.

Maybe I can suggest one no one has. Yourself
Why? Because you are managing it so are responsible for its growth if its a public provider. You re also responsible for the content of wht is held their and can easily remove that content without going through additional channels. -------------------- bbdimension.com est 1996
